Most people who have visited here for a while should know I likes me a good cover song. Well, absonderpop is a weblog that’s chock full of them. Hell, they just posted 19 different versions of Tom Petty’s “American Girl”. Ok, taking out the original and a live track you have 17, but that’s 17 more than I had. Go covers!

Watch the video for The Zimmers’ version of “My Generation”. The kicker here is that they’re all elderly, the singer is 90 for God’s sake. Nice.

While going through my bookmarks in a vain attempt at spring cleaning I noticed that Copy, Right? is not only still around, it’s still great. If cover songs are your thing, check out the tunes. If they’re not, check it out anyways. Come on, everyone loves a bizarre cover of “Hollaback Girl”.

Finetune looks sort of similar to Pandora and has a Wii option which is nice. Speaking of Pandora, this little Windows application appears to let you save the music you hear there.

Something Old, Something New has their Christmas mix online. Good choices with the Flaming Lips, 5,6,7,8′s, The Fall and more.

If you’re looking for a holiday music mix, might I suggest my own from Strange Reaction? Over an hour of punk(ish) Christmas music. Not safe for work, the easily offended or my parents.

There are some good videos in this top 50 of 2006 list, although I had only heard 3 or so of the songs before now. They have The Horrors clip there so I’m happy.

For a band that didn’t release much and wasn’t even around that long, Operation Ivy.com has tons of bootleg mp3s.

Radeo, another page of online radio stations. The layout’s not bad and the collection is pretty good. Realplayer (or its clone) needed.

Musicovery is a neat way to make an online radio stream, and the free lo-fi stream should serve most people just fine.

What was in John Peel’s personal box of favorite singles? Take a peek. Hint: The White Stripes were apparently popular with him at the time of his death.

Webjay has lots of good “stations”, including BoingBoing’s Found Sounds. Watch out, I think I saw some Justin Timberlake floating around.
