This suggests to me that in fact, a great deal of the video is right, but that the Mormons can't publicly declare it, because they know it is shameful nonsense. The Mormon church has long used the 'lammanite'/lost tribe theory to justify a truly perverse relationship to indian people. particularly it was the justification for 'voluntary' removal of indian children to mormon boarding and schooling which cut them off from families and traditional navajo beliefs and culture. the federal indian child welfare act of 1978 was an attempt to stop this practice and those of other state and private agencies. It did a lot of good but my Oklahoma experience leads me to guess that the Mormons have found ways to avoid this law and its teachings I suspect that this is not a joke at all.
