The 30th Anniversary of Punk
Time Magazine claims it’s the 30th Anniversary of Punk. I’m not sure that’s true at all, but the photos used are worth checking out for Ramones and Sex Pistols fans.

August 31st, 2007First punk albums were all released in ’77 so how is that not the anniversary?

August 31st, 2007Because there were punk bands releasing records before then.Television, The Stooges, the first Ramones album (1976), The Buzzcocks “Spiral Scratch” (1976)… 1977 is the go-to year because a lot of good and/or influential bands came out in the press then, it’s not the first year of punk though.

August 31st, 2007Oh okay then… surprised you missed the Damned though, and the Stooges?
So we missed the anniversary then? Better set our alarms for 2016.
