My favorite part of this is that the authors seem to have tried every flavor. I want to try cactus ice cream now!

Durian ice-cream is not that bad- assuming the actual fruit itself doesn’t want to make you retch. It’s quite popular in Singapore and Malaysia, and also with ethnic Chinese here in Australia. Any major supermarket in your local Chinatown should have it, or at least the frozen fruit imported from Thailand. They are about 2 to 2½ times the volume of an American football and are covered in spikes. The smell has been likened to rotten cabbage mixed with baked beans after they’ve gone through someone. The fruit tastes and feels a bit like creamed banana in your mouth.

    Definitely an acquired taste!
