July 19th, 2007I saw a documentary on this on the BBC. Although these people seem content on having a relationship with a doll, I felt kind of sad for them since what they have done is conformed, as if this is the best they are going to get in life. I don’t blame them. The world is kind of crazy right now and it is getting difficult to begin and maintain a serious relationship. If it’s not a doll, then it’s searching sites like eharmony or match.com.

July 20th, 2007No matter how crazy the worlds gets, I will always personally take of myself before buying these dolls. Sure I’ll give a doll a whirl for kicks, but not for companionship. Having the doll is completely different from searching for real companions on websites.

July 20th, 2007I agree. However, I’m not comparing the two. It has become increasingly difficult for many people to find a stable partner in the “real world” , or whatever, which leads many decent people to resort websites like eharmony, or, in the case of the people who resort to these dolls, a living partner who will accept them regardless. Blame short attention spans and one-night stands (i.e. physical attraction only requisite.) Who knows? That’s the problem with giving you guys and gals free will. It’s hard to pinpoint at the moment.

July 24th, 2007I stopped watching about 13 mins in when the third guy sums it up quite well when he says “I used to be everybody’s doormat”…. now he has a relationship with a doormat……
Still, whatever turns you on.
