Backspace

June 24th, 2005

Backspace is another streaming site with a pretty random selection of channels. The quality’s ok, but the movie channel there was showing something particularly grainy without sound. Who knows. Free Weather Channel, yay!

Raiden X

June 24th, 2005

Raiden X, a tribute to the arcade originals.

Pulp Downloads

June 23rd, 2005

If you’re into old pulp stories, this site has a lot of them scanned in the Acrobat format, images included.

Sveerz

June 23rd, 2005

Sveerz: match the sounds in order while trying to clear the colored balls. It’s Simon meets one of those three-in-a-row games.

Music You (Possibly) Won’t Hear Anyplace Else is in the midst of a “Roots of Elvis” series that’s interesting. The site has some interesting rarities if you dig back a little bit.

Jaguar Urban Golf

June 23rd, 2005

It’s a long loader, but Jaguar Urban Golf is decent enough for a corporate sponsored game. Golf in an urban environment, hence the name.

Diner Dash

June 22nd, 2005

Diner Dash is one of those games that starts making you a little frantic as you play. Fast paced would be a good description. Choose “endless shift” for the online version.

GI Joe Comics

June 22nd, 2005

GI Joe Comics from the 1970’s, including .wav files of the audio from the Peter Pan book/record sets.

Leo Steel

June 22nd, 2005

Leo Steel and the Aztek Gold is a one button game where you just press up to jump. It’s pretty hard by level 5 or so. Good one.

Delete!

June 22nd, 2005

Advertisements covered up in yellow is what delete! is comprised of. Pretty crazy looking. An English-language article on the display can be found here.

Serial Killer Timelines

June 21st, 2005

Radford University students have compiled information and statistics to create some interesting Serial Killer Timelines. It’s a mix of html, Adobe Acrovat and Word documents, so be prepared.

This website for the old radio program, Mercury Theatre, would be great if the downloads weren’t so slow. Maybe everyone’s downloading War of the Worlds which broke the server.

Alpha Force

June 21st, 2005

Alpha Force is a decent, side-scrolling shooter with the usual powerups.

Crazy Bike

June 21st, 2005

Crazy Bike is an Excitebike rip that confuses me a bit. I can’t figure out how to move without having the engine overheat.

Reptilian Agenda

June 21st, 2005

There’s even more strange conspiracy fun over at the Reptilian Agenda.

Today

June 20th, 2005

Sorry about the lack of posts today, it’s been a little hectic. Back to normal tomorrow.

Soul Asylum’s bassist, Karl Mueller, dies at 41. That really sucks.

Reaktor

June 17th, 2005

Reaktor: clear the colors while spinning around.

The Salem Witch Trials website has a lot of interesting things, including court transcripts of the trials.

Wikipedia

June 17th, 2005

I love Wikipedia, and their page of people widely considered eccentric has links to some interesting bios.
